Red Dead Redemption was due for release in Australia on Friday the 21st of May 2010. Apparently, and much to the delight of every gamer I know, some random (probably now “ex”) employee of Dick Smith took it upon themselves to break street date and sell the game a day early… which meant it was “game on” across the country… as the nerdy gaming retailer code goes: we’ll sell it early too, just so long as someone else does it first so our parents don’t get a letter from the teacher.
This is an “initial thoughts” post. What is an “initial thoughts” post? Well, it’s like a review, only it’s written before the game is completed. Which gives you plenty of excuses to back out on every-single-thing you’ve said later on, should it be required. Handy, I know.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 (BFBC2) is the latest release from EA & DICE's Battlefield franchise. What is BFBC2? Well, if you take AMAZING graphics and add weapons, vehicles, a physics engine and destructible environments you begin to get the idea. However, like any online First Person Shooter (FPS) there are always two rather annoying elements:
- Lag, due to Australia's rather poxy broadband infrastructure; and
- Your teammates.
BFBC2 is different from most FPS in that it actually requires some solid team work to win a round. If you play the Call of Duty series like you are the love child of John Rambo and Chuck Norris (read: a one man army) then you'll probably take some adjusting to the BFBC2 team ethos. This article is to help you out and because PS3's > XBOX, it is naturally written for PS3 controls. It should be noted that these tips are sourced and adapted from the internet, primarily Australia's leading PS3 clan's forum: Australian Forces.
